Application for Deerington.
IN CHARACTER
Character Name: Peter Benjamin Parker
Canon: Marvel's Spider-Man (Marvel Videogames)
Canon Point: After Devil's Breath is cured, but not quite endgame.
In-Game Tattoo Placement:

Current Health/Status: Coming into the game a little beat up, has a hole in one shoulder and a little cut up/bruised/etc. Other than that, he'll heal pretty dang fast and is a clean bill of health (save for some of that radioactivity in the boy's blood, but oh well); he was on the October TDM and if it's okay, I'm hoping to have had him come in from the tail-end of October, so by now he'll be fully healed up.
Age:
Species: Sticky radioactive human spider-man.
History: Here!
Personality:
Peter Parker is your typical nerdy-guy-turned-hero: kind of on the average side when it comes to excitement in his civilian life, someone that others would not look at and see a standard superhero in. He's no Iron Man — he doesn't have Tony Stark's loud presence when he enters a room, or the grand aura Thor exudes being himself in any given situation. He doesn't have a cool gruff voice like the Punisher and he's steeped in debt from an odd assortment of things. He's kind of goofy and inconspicuous, and if you put Spider-Man next to Peter Parker, New Yorkers would probably just think he's the guy that got saved from a mugger or something. He carries himself in a harmless way, polite and easy-going and not one to instill anything but kindness in his day-to-day life.
Basically, he's a pretty nice guy. Sometimes his trustworthiness and openness to help makes him so very gullible; just ask Felicia, who manages to sucker him out of just about every victory he could have against her, all because he trusts in the good of people too much. He's also extremely responsible — or, uh, is extremely responsible in particular ways, anyway. He's great at helping the little guy and making sure to use his gifts for good, but this is also the same guy who can't seem to keep it together long enough to pay his rent. He suffers a lot from taking on too much and feeling like the whole world is in his hands, which is something that drives people like Mary Jane crazy — he tells people not to juggle too much and avoid dangerous situations, if only because he feels he's the one who should be doing it. It's very annoying.
He is the kind of dude who will drop anything for someone (as long as it's not, uh... interrupting him stopping a robbery, you know), but he's also the same person who is oblivious to the strain he can put on his own relationships thanks to his profession. He's funny (or tries to be, anyway) and likes to lighten the air, but sometimes it can come off as making light of something or teasing. He's really smart when it comes to books and scientific theories (see: the guy who helped create neurologically controlled metal octopus arms), but really stupid at dating (see: him being overbearing and treating MJ like she's a defenseless child). He's experienced as hell after working eight years as Spider-Man, but he's still feeling directionless and a little unsure of his future at age 23, especially with regards to his role as a scientist. He juggles tasks with an apt skill, but also has a habit of overworking himself with long nights as a vigilante or scientist.
... A lot of his positives come with negatives, is what I'm gettin' at.
There are so many things Pete is great at — and so many things he sucks at, mostly because of his own poorly considered choices, and they go hand-in-hand so neatly. In fact, he's what you'd call a functional mess: someone who can be homeless after blissfully avoiding rent and yet still manage to help maintain a little more order in a sprawling city. He's rather level-headed, but also sensitive and quick to accept guilt that he shouldn't be shouldering; someone who would preach to take it easy, but also beat himself up over things that are well out of his control. So yeah, bit of a hypocrite at times, too.
In the aftermath of his canon, he's grappling with the feelings of inadequacy, that he helped cause a crisis he has to atone for, that he has no clue how to repair what he perceives to be his own sins or mistakes. He drives everyone who knows both sides of him crazy with it. He knows.
But he tries? That's definitely a subtitle to put under 'Spider-Man'.
He totally tries.
Peter not only heavily focuses on responsibility — in the belief that you should use your gifts for good — but he also lives in a constant battle of doing what's right, instead of listening to his emotions. At the end of the game he's forced to choose between the life of his only surviving family and the lives of numerous people in New York; he struggles with the choice, is overwhelmed by it, but ultimately Peter Parker and Spider-Man know that self-sacrifice and picking the most painful option may be the right way to handle it. "You do what you think is best," is what he'd told Doctor Octavius. "It's all any of us can. Even if it hurts like hell." He sticks by that. Even if it means a cost to himself, he'll perform his duties that he'd sworn to when he became Spider-Man.
While Peter is not one to encourage that sort of miserable self-sacrifice among those he protects, he also will not shy away from telling people in his line of work the honest truth of it; sometimes, you're gonna be the one getting hurt, or shit on, or forced to make an ugly choice. What's important is making that choice knowing it's the best one that will protect the most good and stop the most bad. You just... can't sacrifice your compassion and desire to defend the innocent.
Abilities/Powers/Weaknesses & Warping:
Nothing that will warp anything — though he does have a 'spider sense' that warns him of upcoming danger. It doesn't necessarily warn him of dangerous people, but of actual cause for concern to his physical well-being or the well-being of others (i.e. if someone is about to detonate a bomb, he will feel the tingling feeling of danger; if a bullet is shot at him, he may be able to avoid because he sensed it was about to be fired).
He is very durable, so getting punched, smashed, or other blunt trauma attacks are less effective on him, but he's entirely weak against weapons that puncture skin — bullets, knives, anything that can effectively lance or cut someone, that'll do the trick. He has healing abilities, but not on the same level as, say, Logan or Deadpool; if he breaks an arm, it heals in a number of days instead of a number of weeks, and bullet wounds are of the same variety. It's never super consistent, but maybe that can be blamed on the type of injury. He has super strength and is seen stopping speeding cars with his bare hands — though I'm okay with whatever nerfing may be requested in terms of just how much super strength he has!
His hearing and vision are both really sharp, and he can hear whispers at a particular distance and see a bit more clearly than the average human. He is also able to adhere to surfaces. Like. I don't know how it works, and neither do the comics, games, or movies, let's be honest; if it's a surface, he sits and fits. Usually he's just sticking via fingers and feet, but he has been seen sitting with his butt sticking to walls. So. Yes.
Inventory:
• The spider suit — No gadgets or anything connected to them in game, I just want the good ol' white-spider-suit just in case. I'm not sure if he'll be wearing it much or at all in this game, especially if he gives up the idea of secret identities in a dreamscape. But you know. It's good to be prepared!
• The web slingers — his primary weapon, one he prefers to rely on to keep things less violent. (Yes I know he throws rockets at people in-game, I plead the fifth on that game-play mechanic, and all the other ones that would definitely kill a man.) It consists of a pair of bracelet-looking bands for his wrist, and he will likely need to make his own web fluid over time in Deerington to keep it useful.
• A framed photo of Peter, Uncle Ben, and Aunt May.
• A framed photo of Harry, MJ, and Peter.
• His cellphone.
• Spider-Plushie.
