As we discussed, I have spent some time looking into this Mother Superior. Although I found some interesting information at the power plant, it was the deer who were the most fruitful. They led me to the foot of Mt. Rheum, though they seemed incredibly reluctant to travel there themselves or to allow me to travel that way.
Is there much you can tell me about the mountain?
Kind regards, M. Briest

[Mid-May Peter's dealing with worrying over a friend and absolutely swapping his powers for some... interesting ones, so this is a welcomed breath of fresh air, honestly. Mr. Spider-Man replies promptly:]
This is great news, thank you so much. Mt. Rheum is actually somewhere I'm planning on revisiting soon -- there were skeletal remains in the mines FEAR was interested in getting a hold of, just in case there were any clues to what happened there in them. Considering the amount of pain and suffering there, I'm not surprised Mt. Rheum's a possible lead. Feels like my own investigation there was too -- incomplete.
I'll try to get back in myself, see if the deer will stop me.
I don't know a whole lot about the mountain, but I'll do my best -- someone from earlier than myself stated there were strange lights in the mountains, and the feeling someone was watching them. They also said there was a lab at some point in the mountain, too, but not much to gather from it -- you try to get into the place, you get this awful scream that makes you bleed out of your ears.
I'll need to investigate THAT further, if you're willing to be patient with me. I can get more info and fill you in. I've never seen it myself, but I'm dyin to see what they've got going on there.
If it wouldn't inconvenience you, I'd like to join you on the journey. The lab sounds as though it may be promising and I was curious about the mines, as well.
[She weighs up her next words carefully, not wanting to tip her hand too soon but it's better to reveal too much than to go without answers.]
You won't need to worry about my safety, I'm quite capable of looking after myself. I did find my way into the power plant, after all.
As for the information there, it seems that power issues are both common and prepared for by the municipality. They had far more supplies than any town this size should need, and power outages have been steadily increasing for decades. Most curiously, after 1959, none of the files were dated.
[Attached are two images, one of a random file from 1952, one from a later year, notably missing the date.]
I might have to take that first trip into the mines by myself -- but I wouldn't be against you and me investigating the mountain in full. Mostly because I'm currently having some... fluctuations in my powers, and if you're around me when it happens, you might get yourself hurt. And there's nothing more unpleasant than being stuck in a bunch of mines with monsters and unbreathable air while you're injured.
[The joys of getting powers where healing is fast and -- bounce the wound to whoever's closest. Goddammit. Hell, he's not so confident he can work to their full advantage if he can't wallcrawl and shove over things by the ton.]
How about end of May? Pending if we're not all screwed up still by... whatever the hell the town's currently doing. We'll make it a super fun camping trip! Minus the fun, unless you want to bring smores.
... But huh. Weird how it stops at 1959, which is around the time this place has seemingly been frozen, culture-wise...
I understand, you aren't the first person that has mentioned issues with their abilities and it seems best to wait until that has passed. It appears to be effecting people who had no powers to speak of before arriving here, so waiting is the safest option.
[With the suggesting that maybe she's had some weird power shoved on her despite definitely absolutely not having a gift.]
We'll set a tentative date for the end of May. It's been some time since I've been camping, but I imagine it's just like riding a bike.
Is it possible that the way they experience time here is broken, in some way? If they can't perceive or experience time correctly, they may not be able to do something as simple as write a date on a file.
Totally like riding a bike. Just with extra poison oak and a few monsters. Make sure to bring some of that desolving toilet paper, forest-friendly first.
Also -- possible. But from what I can tell, there's something way worse with them than that. They secretly hate all of us, for one thing. The deer, too. And they never seem to remember us day to day, for that matter. You ask one of 'em who Spider-Man is, even if they just saw me, they'd draw a blank.
And if there's some big catastrophe? It's like they don't even know it's happening.
I'm still not sure if they're even really people anymore, if they were in the first place.
I was considering something more along the lines of a rifle, though I suppose protecting the environment is important, too.
[She's just gently introducing the idea of Gun to make sure that he'll be alright with that if it comes to it. Max rely weaponry before she reveals her ability.]
They remind me of the background characters in video games, that move on loops with only preordained responses. At first I thought they were simply a figment of the dream, but I don't want to rule out any options.
[He'd do his best to keep her from using it, of course, but it's not like he's unused to weapons being toted by the NYPD; just... gonna try to make sure nobody gets shot to death is all.]
You know, I have the same feeling. Like VG characters.
If there are creatures up there, I would prefer to have a weapon.
I had wondered if it may be something along those lines, it could be a result of simply spending too much time in this town. Perhaps it erodes the personality.
Almost every single thing in this town is unpleasant to think about
Thank you for the tip about wendigos, is there a particular place I should be looking to research any of the monsters here? I wouldn't want to bother you with a thousand questions
And oh, man. Honestly, there's not a lot of places to research that, sorry.
It always changes month to month, too. You just never know what kind of new unruly monster you're going to be dealing with. Or ghost. Or demon. Pick your poison, it exists here in some way I'm sure.
It's alright. I'll start with traditional mythology and supernatural lore, it may at least offer some insights.
It's something of a shame deerFeed isn't reserved strictly for information sharing. It's taken a significant amount of time searching through all the nonsense for anything useful.
Sure thing, just let me know if you want any firsthand accounts. I've got a slew of 'em.
HA, look, I can't deny I've flooded the feed with some pretty ridiculous stuff. Does this mean I should hold off on my Ultimate Pun Master competition?
I have a list of questions as tall as I am, but if anything feels especially pertinent I'll certainly ask.
I'm sure the Ultimate Pun Master competition is very important, I only wish there was a separate option purely for discussing our situation. Less Facebook and more Wikipedia.

Not shocking when you know this town after even just a few months, but... yeah.
And there's definitely plenty of fun friends in the bestiary to go around, you're not wrong there.
Let's hope we don't run into a wendigo.
